EFMI STC 2026 - AI in Clinical Decision Making and Education
Invitation
Full papers are scientific papers, vision papers or review papers related to methodologies and/or applications. Full Paper structure includes title, names, affiliations, locations (city, state, and country), ORCID numbers of all authors, abstract (up to 150 words), and 3-4 keywords; body of text: introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusions, acknowledgements (optional), and references.
The maximum length of a paper submission is five (5) A4 camera-ready pages (including everything mentioned above), and should strictly follow the formatting rules of the provided IOS Press template.
All submitted papers will be subject to a peer-review process by three independent reviewers. Accepted full papers will be included in the EFMI STC 2026 Proceedings, published by IOS Press as Open Access e-book and submitted for evaluation for possible indexing in Medline / PubMed, Scopus, and elsewhere as mentioned by IOS Press. Presenters of accepted full papers are allocated 15 minutes, discussion included. Conference registration is mandatory for at least one co-author/presenter of the Full Paper.
This conference seeks to bring together European and International scientists and to share their latest methodologies and results in Biomedical and Health Informatics.
We particularly encourage early-career scientists and students to contribute to the conference.

We are using the Online Registry Platform for handling your submissions. Register with the Online Registry Platform and submit your contributions in MS Word format. All submissions go through a peer review process. The submissions must be in English and formatted according to the provided templates.
The EFMI STC 2026 Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) and Local Organizing Committee (LOC) invite you to submit a scientific paper for peer review, to organize a workshop, a panel, and a demonstration. Scientific Programme- Papers and Other Types of Submissions
The following types of submissions are possible:
Registration: At least one author of the paper must be registered for the conference before 5 September 2026; otherwise, the paper will be rejected.
Podium presentation
Description: Oral presentation of research findings, described in an abstract. This scientific work will be edited in a dedicated journal and will not be published in the proceedings.
Length and format: Abstract up to one page
Presentation: 10-minute presentation in person, followed by a discussion of 5 minutes.
Registration: At least one author of the presentation must be registered at the conference before 25 September 2026, otherwise it will not be in the Programme
Workshops and Panels
Description: presentation and discussion of innovative, controversial or impactful topics.
Length and format: 3 pages (Abstract 150 words maximum), following the scheme of Abstract, Topic, Programme, Outcome, Short Bio of Presenters. Submissions must be formatted according to the IOS template in A4.
Presentations: 60-minute in-person presentations and discussions; the programme must engage and involve the audience.
Submissions of Demonstrations
Description: presentation of the application of a product (demonstration) or use of a service.
Length and format: 3 pages (Abstract 150 words maximum), following the scheme of Title, Abstract, Topic, and Contents of the demonstration. Submissions must be formatted according to the IOS template in A4.
Presentation: 10-15-minute presentations in person.
Mandatory Author Registration for all accepted submissions is applied
Any presentation accepted into the program requires at least one author to be registered for the conference. For workshops and panels, all authors must be registered. Disrespect of this usual EFMI / STC rule will lead to cancellation and withdrawal of the submitted manuscript from conference proceedings.
